What are the roles of the various people who administer the program?

The administration consists of an on-site director, an live-in assistant and an academic coordinator. The staff of STEM Ed Abroad are responsible for implementation of the program. The President of STEM Ed Abroad, Kirsten Johnson is available to address concerns of students and parents. Ms. Johnson and the staff of STEM Ed Abroad coordinate with Dr. Jeroen van den Bosch to organize travel, airport pick-up and events. He works with the Polish academic director, Dr. Skalski to make the academic schedule and to coordinate all aspects of teaching. He organizes the contacts between U.S. faculty and Polish faculty. Although it would be ideal to have a single U.S.-side director we have found this difficult in practice (see question below). In the event that there are questions the director cannot answer students may always contact the Liaison for help or assistance. The mobility manager interacts with the students during the events as well as organizing events in Poland. The Polish academic coordinator is responsible for helping with any educational issues in classes, such as scheduling conflicts, course assistance, and communication between students and faculty in Poland in the event of problems. i
